How are speed and accuracy calculated?

Speed (WPM) counts every 5 typed characters as one “word” per minute of active typing time, then subtracts a small penalty for mistakes that were never fixed. It only appears once you've typed enough to make the number meaningful.

Accuracy is the percentage of everything you typed that was correct, including letters you later fixed with Backspace.
