How are speed and accuracy calculated?
Speed (WPM) counts every 5 typed characters as one “word” per minute of active typing time, then subtracts a small penalty for mistakes that were never fixed. It only appears once you've typed enough to make the number meaningful.
Accuracy is the percentage of everything you typed that was correct, including letters you later fixed with Backspace.

How the test works
Pick a duration and an age group, then type the text shown as accurately as you can. The timer starts on your first keystroke, and the result at the end shows words per minute and accuracy — a simple way to see progress over time without comparing against anyone else.
Accuracy matters more than raw speed at this stage: a fast but error-prone result usually means a child is still hunting for keys rather than typing by feel, and speed built on that habit is hard to unlearn later. A slower, highly accurate result is a stronger sign of real progress than a fast, mistake-heavy one.
